House of Shields in Danger of Closing Due to Lease Woes

In what would be a huge shutter shocker, several sources confirm that the century-old House of Shields could be nearing the end of its run on New Montgomery Street. The historic bar's lease runs out in June and word on the street is that at this point in time, the landlord has no intention of renewing it, meaning the current team is definitely out. This development, of course, leaves the bar's future very much in flux. As it stands, if new owners do indeed take over the House of Shields, it's usually a longshot that it will be kept as is, so in the meantime, we'd recommend fans get over there to savor the dive, just in case its days are indeed numbered.
