Restaurant Michael Mina Lets The Menus Fly

Six days before its opening date of October 19th, Restaurant Michael Mina has let the menus loose, in all their Japanese, seasonal, Mina-fied glory. The bar menu includes a Japanese burger on a housemade sticky bun, lunch has Wagyu beef wraps, dinner
lists a truffle-stuffed jidori chicken and there's even a Japanese tonic on the cocktail list. Lovers of Michael Mina's now-shuttered Westin St. Francis business will delight in his famous tuna tartare on all menus and the lobster pot pie for dinner. A nice selection of caviar and chilled shellfish round things out and there are items like lobster corn dogs and foie gras "pb&j" for the kids at heart.

Tasting menus are available throughout the dining room as well. There's a 5-courser for $95 in the dining room and small plate tasting menus at more approachable prices in the bar for lunch and dinner. We'll leave the rest of the talking to the menus linked above, but we would like to hear your reflections on how these new offerings stack up to what once was at the original Restaurant Michael Mina. Also, please take a moment to acknowledge other Japanese-ish steakhouses Shimo and Alexander's Steakhouse, blossoming around town. Dare we note a trend? [EaterWire]
