THE MISSION - A cheese shop called Mission Cheese will be coming to Valencia between 18th and 19th in the New Year. An unruly mess of related virtual fist-pumping has ensued on the Mission Cheese blog. [Mission Cheese via Mission Mission]

WINE COUNTRY - Ubuntu will show its organic, biodynamic gardens to the public on November 18th in the first of many monthly garden tours and dinners they're planning. It starts with a walk through the gardens at 4 p.m. and ends with a six-course chef's tasting menu, served family style back at Ubuntu. For more information, call the restaurant. [EaterWire]

WINE COUNTRY EXTRA - Francis Ford Coppola is opening the public park area adjacent to his Geyservislle winery and Rustic restaurant tomorrow at 11 a.m. Take note it has a 3600-square-foot swimming pool, a truly unprecedented addition to wine country. Visitors can purchase a cabana -- they're calling them "cabines" -- for just $25/day. Signore Lucchesi has more on this. [ISSF]
