MISSION - SF's most serious ice cream goof, Jake Godby makes the cut for the superhot NY-based design blog The Selby. It has awesome pictures of Godby in his shop and a little hand-written interview wherein he reveals his fave spots in the Mission and why he likes San Francisco so much. One of the reasons: "Freaks abound." [The Selby]

HAYES VALLEY - Taylor Boetticher is hosting another whole beast happy hour at the Fatted Calf in Hayes Valley tonight. This time, he'll be breaking down a Becker Lane Organic Berkshire pig for the willing. There will be beer, wine, bites and music from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. [EaterWire]

CHEF SHUFFLES - Mario Maggi has stepped down as executive chef at Credo in the FiDi due to health issues. His former sous chef Gustavo Romero is much younger and will be taking over, however, the sedanani will not leave the menu. The GM over there is also new: Mike Gilpin, formerly of One Market. [EaterWire]

SOMA - Prospect started doing happy hour on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. With this comes a new menu of bar snacks like crispy pig trotter “tots” with lobster aioli and chickpea fritters with dill yogurt dip priced between $4 and $5. Two beers, tap wines and cocktails will be $5 and there's also a $7 martini option. [EaterWire]

OPENING REPORT - Grub has opened on Valencia Street, albeit softly. [Tablehopper]
