OAKLAND - A tipster writes in with the scoop on something called The Flip Side going into the former Adam's Burger at 3401 Lakeshore Ave. According to this blog post, it will be a gourmet burger joint with meat likely ground on site. The owners, who also own Flavors of India, have started a major remodel, moving the front door in six feet to create an outdoor seating venue. A former Citron owner is helping with restaurant design and menu planning. [EaterWire, GrandLakeNeighbors]

OAKLAND EXTRA - Nearby, Marcia Lam is opening Lin Jia Asian Kitchen soon in the shuttered L'Amyx Tea Bar at 3437 Lakeshore. There's a Facebook page here, with pre-opening detail and drama. We'll leave the rest of the talking to this blog post and this very special video. [EaterWire, GrandLakeNeighbors, YouTube]

The menu will be local, seasonal Californian and affordable, at that. [ISSF]

CIVIC CENTER EXTRA - A restaurant called Ma'velous is moving in at 1408 Market Street. It'll be a 40-seat affair with a farm-to-table menu and an international wine and beer list. There's also talk of an interesting-sounding 45-foot mural. [GrubStreet]
