New, 1 comment

FILLMORE - Celebrity happenings at Dosa of late have really been off-the-hook. Virginia Madsen was just in town for a private screening of Sideways and stopped in for a some small plates and a few glasses of wine. Our local Daily Candy editor Karen Palmer recommended she go there. [EaterWire]

THE MISSION EXTRA - Taqueria Vallarta has a new sign that Mission Mission is calling snazzy. But just how snazzy can a "lit-up pop-out sign that can be seen from blocks away by anyone walking on 24th St" be? Your thoughts in the comments. [Mission Mission]

TRUFFLE SEASON - A few more truffle options for the fleeting season: Masa's offers this truffle tasting menu with items like cepe tortellini and white truffle rice pudding arancini for dessert; and Millenium is doing a 5-course truffle, porcini and winemaker dinner next Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 or so. Call Alison for a reservation: 415.345.3900x13.

THE MISSION - GrubStreet tells us The Corner has entered a mini-shutter to install a new hood in the kitchen. They should be re-opening in the next few days. [GrubStreet]
