AWARDS SEASON - The first annual Good Food Awards finalists have been announced. And why should you care? The organization, directed by former Slow Food heavyweight Sarah Weiner, was created to honor socially and environmentally responsible food producers. John Scharffenberger, Bruce Aidells and Sunset food editor Margo True were among the judges of 780 submitted products nationwide; and 80 final award winners will be announced in January. OAKLAND - Apparently a group of half-naked witches, ladybugs and screaming elves thought it would be fun to rip an East Oakland Denny's to shreds on Halloween. Eater National has the video evidence. [-EN-]
HAYES VALLEY - Tommy Halvorsen's pop-up EAT Restaurant is moving from The Ambassador to Triple Crown on Market Street with the debut happening December 2nd. Local SF record label Hauswork SF will provide musical entertainment and we've got our hands on the menu here. [EaterWire]
