The new terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport is under construction and it's looking pretty decent, food- and cocktail- wise. Telstar Logistics has the details and great pics of the entire exciting build out. The food court is set to include The Plant Cafe Organic, The Grill by Lark Creek, Pinkberry, Napa Farms Market, Andalé, Natalie's Candy Jar, Wakaba, Peet's Coffee and Tea, and a Cat Cora Cocktail Lounge. The Cocktail Lounge is of particular interest because it's going to be 10,000 square-feet huge, and its location allows for extreme close-ups of airplanes as they taxi past you for take-off. Neato. The only bummer is that there won't be a rebirth of Pancake Palace, a terrific looking pancake joint that offered travelers 14 varieties of pancakes. Most hearts left in San Francisco were probably last seen at Pancake Palace. RIP.
Terminal 2 (awesomely and logically nicknamed, T2) is set to open in April 2011. I wonder, if one just wants to sit in the lounge and watch planes go by, could they procure a special pass from the TSA? They should seriously consider it. People would be way more into the ultra-invasive pat-down or creepy naked body scanner if they've had a few drinks first. Hell, after a few airport Singapore Slings, I might let them do the pat-down INSIDE the naked body scanner. Bring it! [Telstar Logistics]
