MISSION - What a coincidence that Tacolicious co-owner Joe Hargrave announces plans for expansion on the same day the Beretta team unveils its tequila bar/Mexican eatery idea. Tacolicious number two will be in the Mission -- the same nabe the Beretta folks are eyeing for their Mexican spot. Both parties clearly agree we need more tequila bars as Hargrave and co. will be opening one adjacent to Tacolicious. It will be called Mosto, complete with a bar bite menu. Take note, they'll be bringing the Loch Ness of San Francisco tequila beverages: the blended margarita. So how do we feel about the 2011 tequila bar smackdown? Good, yes? [ISSF]

MARINA - Chotto, that fashion-forward izakaya we told you about -- will be doing test dinners this weekend in preparation for opening on Monday. [EaterWire]

SUNSET - Jose Calvo-Perez is nearing the completion of Pasión, his Latin resto coming to Irving Street. Right now they're waiting on the liquor license. Staff training starts next week and "we have to be open by Christmas," he says. [EaterWire]

MISSION EXTRA - Tablehopper has the scoop on Asiento, coming to 21st Street and Bryant from Debi Cohn, the former GM at Ramblas. She's going to start things off this month (yes, December!) with fresh-juice-based cocktails and will then add in some Spanish tapas in January. Albondigas, por favor. [Tablehopper]
