Marlowe Snatches Joey & Eddie's North Beach Space

After months of real estate agents jockeying over the space that was once Moose's and Joey and Eddie's and Beebo, news comes today that the team at Marlowe, partnered with Dave Stanton, has sealed a deal. They plan to open a "grown-up, brasserie version of Marlowe" at the Stockton Street address around summertime next year. Remember there were heavy rumors dropped that Original Joe's would be moving in, so this news certainly was the last thing anyone expected.

As Scoop reports, Marlowe chef-partner Jen Puccio will assume the same role at the new spot, but will able to do much more -- especially seafood, which she loves to cook -- thanks to the much larger kitchen over on Washington Square Park. Partner Anna Weinberg said she's always had a fantasy about having a restaurant near a park and is planning a research trip to New York in the New Year so that they can come up with new ideas to "make it sparkle again" as she says. In other news, the fate of Original Joe's still remains uncertain.
