Asiento Adds "Tapas," Martini House Issues, Waffles, More!

New, 1 comment

THE MISSION - The Asiento bar and tapas lounge concept that opened earlier this month, is releasing its food menu sooner than expected. Soft-launching Friday is a list including queso fundido with chorizo, albondigas, bread with assorted cheeses and sausage, Thai spring rolls and more. The consulting chef here is Alex Placencia, who worked with owner Debi Cohn back in the day at Colibri Mexican Bistro. Also: look out for the sleek design by Craige Walters, who did Blackbird, Trigger and Lime. [EaterWire]

NAPA - Responding to the rumor circling about earlier, Inside Scoop confirmed today that the deal between Paul Fleming and The Martini House is indeed dead. No one has stepped up for further comment as of yet. [ISSF]

FOOD PORN - Since you can't get your fix here too often, we'll direct you to SFoodie's porntastic photo gallery of highlights from 2010. [SFoodie]

FOOD TRUCKIN' - A new waffle sandwich truck called Brass Knuckle readies for roll out in the next few weeks. Yup, you heard it right, waffle sandwiches, like a spicy fried chicken salad and jalapeno slaw "sandwich" on a spicy lemon waffle. GrubStreet has the complete preliminary menu. [GrubStreet]
