The Wienermobile Cometh, Papa Potrero's Shutters, More!

CASTRO - Tomorrow to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank's holiday drive, this beauteous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile you see here will be parked outside the Castro Safeway at 2020 Market Street. From 7 to 10 a.m., the first 200 people to donate non-perishable food items or cash will receive a wiener whistle -- a rare "collector’s item" -- and a photo op in front of the 27-foot long, 7-ton "weiner on wheels." THE SHUTTER - Mission Mission passes on word today that Papa Potrero's Pizza on 24th Street has bowed out of the Bay Area's burgeoning pizza scene. Remember when Bruce Hill asked "when was the last time you've seen a pizza place close?" Well now there's one. [Mission Mission, 7x7]

LIGHTING UP - From this Examiner piece, we learn San Francisco has a higher percentage of smokers (roughly 13%!) compared to Los Angeles (10%) and San Diego (11%). The article also notes San Francisco was once something of a pioneer with smoking bans and anti-smoking crusades, but now our nicotine love persists despite a City fee of 20 cents per pack bought.
