THE MARINA - GrubStreet stumbled upon The Brixton sign you see here. They also have some more intel on the menu coming from Michelle Mah: a "hefty list of small-plate starters, flatbread pizzas, salads, sandwiches and main courses." So, yeah, like we said, "American." Other details are here and here. ETA is second week of January. [GrubStreet]
THE MISSION - Mission Loc@l brings word the Mission Cheese shop should open around March 2011 on Valencia between 18th and 19th. [Mission Loc@l]
THE SUNSET - Jose Calvo-Perez's departure from the Fresca mini-empire, Pasión is getting close to a targeted December 30th opening date. Lots to look forward to here, as this is the first Perez restaurant with a full liquor license and a pan-Latin menu spanning influences of Peru, Spain, Brazil and some other Spanish-speaking countries. Lady T-Hop has lots more on the menu here. Further background info can be found in the Eater archives as well.
FIERI WATCH - The fabulously blond-tipped, tatted, and Food Networked Guy Fieri will be getting pretty darn close to home early next year when he opens a branch of Johnny Garlic's at Hacienda Crossings in Dublin. In case the subtle name clues didn't sink in, Garlic's serves Italian food. This should really help move the Dublin dining scene forward in the grand scheme of things. [The Merc]
MARKET/DOLORES - The 31,000 square foot Whole Foods gearing up for 2001 Market Street got approval from the Planning Commission last week. As Lady T-hop would add, the market will be on the ground floor of a new apartment complex set to replace the existing Ford dealership. [EaterWire, Tablehopper]
DOGPATCH - The new wine shop coming to the future Piccino/MAC complex, Dig Wines has gained approval for a liquor license at 1005 Minnesota. [EaterWire]
