Black Sheep Nears, Camino Has Crabs, Asiento Open, More!

RUSSIAN HILL - Remember this little guy called Black Sheep readying for its Polk Street debut? Well a tipster writes in to show us the sign is up; so things are getting close there. CRABS! - Camino in Oakland is going to start doing a special Monday night three-course Dungeness crab menu this evening. This should keep up through January. The menu will always work in half a crab, grilled in Camino's extra-special fireplace. You can also add as many more crab halves as desired for $11. [EaterWire]

OPENING REPORT/THE MISSION - The Asiento bar and tapas lounge we mentioned last week hath opened. Owner Debi Cohn tells us she met a full house on Thursday's soft-opening day even though the food part of her concept isn't coming until the new year and her interior decorating isn't yet complete. WINE COUNTRY - This coming Saturday, Mutineer magazine is hosting a Holiday Comedy Festival at Jacuzzi Vineyards to benefit global water relief through a charity called A Child's Right.
