The Dogfather Ready for Late Night, Plus Mission Newbies

New, 7 comments

1) North Beach: A few weeks back, we mentioned the arrival of The Dogfather in the old North Beach Lobster Shack spot, and now the salciceria/hot dog joint is just about ready to roll out. If final inspections go well, they're hoping to open as soon as next week, though the place will be sans liquor at first. Aside from some new canine-related decor (also on the way are flat-screen televisions), the interior isn't too different from its last incarnation. Bonus: in a smart move, it will be open until 2AM on weekends. [POST-PLYWOOD]

2) The Mission: It seems like forever since Bistro Annex closed, leaving the space at 1123 Valencia dark, but after a few projects fell through there, it looks like Crepe House will be opening its third location there (the others are on Polk Street and in Hayes Valley). A look inside reveals a raw space that still requires a lot of work. The exterior, however, oddly looks like cozy Alpine lodge. [PLYWOOD]

3) The Mission: A few blocks away, Missionites will be pleased to know that yet another pizza joint is on the way for the neighborhood, though it doesn't appear to be a fancy one. Right across the street from La Boheme (off Mission and 24th), some big gas pizza ovens have been installed inside, and an awning with a delivery number has been erected. [PLYWOOD]
