On Monday, news came out that mega-restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow and his China Grill Management restaurant group would closing Asia de Cuba in mid-April and effectively cutting ties with the host Clift Hotel.
Today, El Chod sends word that once he splits with the Clift, he's hoping to relocate Asia de Cuba somewhere else in the city. He claims that since the other four Asia de Cubas—in Miami, NYC, LA, and London— continue to thrive, and since Asia de Cuba SF has been so well-received (his words, not ours), he's going to try to find a new home for his San Francisco outpost. He did/could not, however, share the reasons for the teary exit from the Clift Hotel.
