THE RICHMOND—The fate of the Richmond's historic Alexandria Theater is close to being revealed, and per the Appeal, one of juiciest possibilities is that there will be "an expansive restaurant or supper club" inside the old theater building. Specifically, there would be an 8,000 square foot restaurant, as long as it doesn't interfere with the art deco murals. [SFA]
FERRY BUILDING—The news first came out a few weeks ago, but this Saturday is the last day within the confines of the Ferry Building for Mastrelli's Deli. The spinoff of North Beach icon Molinari's couldn't renegotiate a lease. [EaterWire]
COW HOLLOW—After almost three months of waiting, Giordano Bros. finally got the green light from the city for its upcoming location on Union Street: "Planning commissioners unanimously approved the new restaurant opening ... [Chairman Ron] Miguel praised the proprietors because their North Beach facility has not been the subject of complaints to police." [SFE]
