Mikey Snowshoes makes a trip all the way up to Lake Tahoe to review Traci Des Jardins' new restaurant in the $300 million Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Manzanita: "What the restaurant does want is to appeal to the widest range of affluent tastes ... For her part, Des Jardins seems to have simplified and adapted her cooking to appeal to a somewhat captive resort crowd ... The food is good enough to be a destination." The design is a winner and worthy of a lofty 3.5 stars, but the overall grade stays at 2.5 stars. [Chron]
