North Point: A permit application has been filed to turn a residential garage at 2735 Hyde (between North Point and Beach St.) into a 625 square foot eatery called D and D Bistro. That puts it just down the block from Gary Danko although we doubt there will be much competition there. A few other converted-garage restaurants and businesses live on the same block, but we doubt the upstairs tenants are too happy about losing their precious parking so close to the main tourist drag. Westfield Mall: San Francisco-based restaurant group Lark Creek will be opening three new Bay Area restaurants between now and 2011, the first hops on to the artisan pizza trend with a 3,500 square foot pizzeria in the old Zazil space in the Westfield Center right next to their own Lark Creek Steak. SFO: The second Lark Creek opening lands at SFO's Terminal 2 and will simply be called The Grill by Lark Creek and will be sporting an all-american wine list and a full bar in case you hate flying sober and hungry. [EaterWire]
Napa: The final Lark Creek venture is Fish Story, a sustainable seafood joint docking at Napa's Riverfront development. With features like a City pier out back where guests can park their water-borne transportation, a wine list heavy on seafood-friendly local whites, and house-brewed beer the place sounds like it's aiming to combine the social, fishing-village vibe of the East Coast with a little bit of the usual Northern California fusion.
