From Urbandaddy of all places, comes news that the anticipated arrival of The Dogfather in North Beach is finally upon us. The salciceria/tubesteak purveyor replaces the old North Beach Lobster Shack and will be open until 2AM to capture some of that last call crowd that typically spills out of Golden Boy Pizza next door on the weekends.

From the sounds of the early reviews on Yelp there was a soft open this weekend where the staff tested out their Mobster-themed dogs like the "Big Al" (Louisiana Hotlink with mustard and sauerkraut) and the "Dog Corleone" (a hot Italian sausage with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and mozzarella) before finally opening their doors to the public yesterday. Although the picnic table and tin-roof decor isn't much of a departure from the Lobster Shack of yore, the range of sausages on the menu from hotlinks to wild boar should help clear up any confusion.
