Pre-opening reports and sneak peak shots are fluttering in as Pulino's Bar & Pizzera, the New York restaurant where former SPQR chef Nate Appleman will run the kitchen, readies for opening in just over one week. Appleman will serve up everything from roasted mussels to porchetta pie and pizza, but owner Keith McNally, who has been called the restauranteur who invented Downtown, expresses doubt, "I'm preparing myself for the worst...I think everything hangs by a thread, whether it's a relationship or one's business or one's health."
