Jay Barmann notes that a proposal for a new boutique hotel at 72 Ellis Street, across the street from John's Grill, is going before the Planning Commission this week. It is a Personality Hotels project (Hotel Union Square, Hotel Vertigo, Hotel Diva) and includes a 2,400 square foot, 150-seat restaurant on the ground floor. [Grub Street SF]
