Alex Jackson's Parada 22 Coming Soon to Haight; Michael Bao Signs Oak-Town Lease

New, 2 comments

HAIGHT ASHBURY - Well here's a shiny little newcomer to a gloriously dingy block. From a tipster, we learn Weird Fish and The Corner Chef, Alex Jackson is behind the new Puerto Rican restaurant, Parada 22, to open in about a week and a half. The business will fill 1805 Haight, a long-vacant space between dive mecca, Murio's, and tapas fixture Cha Cha Cha. Per GrubStreet, the pair will also be opening Black Sheep Pub, a Mission restaurant and bar portending to serve a "constant" prix fixe menu of $32 for four courses. [Eaterwire]

PACIFIC HEIGHTS - From Urban Daddy, we learn a Nick's Crispy Tacos alum will be opening TacoBar next week, bringing Mexico City-inspired fare to Pac White. Doesn’t sound like they’ve got a liquor license, as soju margs are in the works, but the dessert menu has 100% blue agave tequila ice cream. [UD]

OAKLAND - Also live from the tipster dome, news that New York's Unstoppable Michael Bao singed a lease for a 6500 sq ft space on the second floor of the Jack London Market project slated for completion later this year. Bao plans for a new market-style seafood restaurant with Pichet Ong of NY's desert-centric P'Ong as pastry chef. [Eaterwire]

COW HOLLOW -- It seems Lady T-Hop is hot on the trail of the muuuch awaited, Cafe Des Amis, from Bacchus Management Group (a.k.a. the guys who own Spruce) via a recent Craigslist ad that mentions a June opening. Chef Ed Carew, who last worked at the now-shuttered The Cottage Eater in Tiburon, will helm the stoves. [TH]

SAUSALITO - A reliable tipster revealed Bruce Hill of Real Restaurants group has more up his sleeve than Zero Zero. He and Robert Price of Buckeye Roadhouse have another pizza joint in the works in the intimate space on the water next to Paradise Bay restaurant. The spot already has a back patio with loads of potential; and there's rumor of a bocce ball court. [Eaterwire]

THE SUNSET - GrubStreet brings news that Sushi Raw is opening a third location at 19th and Taraval in the former JT's Island Space. Bring it, four seasons roll. [GrubStreetSF]
