Mission Street Food Halfway to Fundraising Goal; Local Blogger Cuts Through the Hype

We noted back in February that Mission Street Food was looking to go legit by raising 10 grand to open a permanent location somewhere that isn't inside Lung Shan Restaurant. Over at SFoodie, T-Pain notes that the well-blogged establishment is halfway to their goal. They'll need to raise (or line up pledges for) the other five G's by May 5th in order for Kickstarter to fund the project, but proprietor Anthony Myint doesn't seem worrited. Everything is "going according to planned so far," he writes on the MSF Blog, but if you think you'll be able to get your beloved Pork Belly & Jicama without a donation you might want to reconsider. Myint is hoping to raise a full $25,000 so he can afford equipment that will "make the food really shine." [SFoodie]

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Mission, neighborhood blogger Robby at OMG the Mish! overheard someone discussing Mission Street Food and decided to go check it out for himself. Although he doesn't sample the PB&J everyone raves about he did find a lot of people cooking up baconator hot dogs. [OMG the Mish!]
