THE MISSION - Adriana Lopez Vermut who co-owns Pica Pica Maize Kitchen with her father and Luis Sosa is hoping for a soft-opening the last week of April and an official opening the first week of May in the former Mi Lindo Yucatan space on Valencia. Good news is, they've landed a liquor license, so they can offer red and white sangria, 5 beers on tap, wine by-the-glass and a special guarapica daquiri, served granita-style, upon opening. Vermut is working on gluten-free product certification as all of her menu items are made with corn flour, so they fit the bill naturally. The same authentic Venezuelan menu as the Napa location will be served here, and the interior will be tricked out Amazon-style with zebra wood, orange tiles, and graphic pops of purple, green, and orange color on different walls. THE MISSION EXTRA - Alex Jackson, Chef/Owner of Black Sheep, is zeroing in on a space that's "very close to The Corner and Weird Fish," the other restaurants near 18th and Mission he co-owns. He should have things confirmed just as soon he hears from the ABC. Jackson will be overseeing a daily changing menu focused on "insanely good value." If all goes as planned with the impending spot, the pub atmosphere will include a 20-seat food bar around an open kitchen, a regular bar, and then 10 tables. Beverage-wise they'll be doing classic cocktails and a wine list created by Justy Brock, veteran of1550 Hyde and Maverick. And here, Jackson's working static pub menu and $32 4-course prix fixe menu for your Wednesday afternoon review. [EaterWire]
PACIFIC HEIGHTS - GrubStreet brings word that Elizabeth Faulkner's Citizen Cake relocation is on hold (again) until the first week of May. [GrubStreet SF]
NOE VALLEY - Little Chihuahua owner Chris Patella tells us the 40-seat outpost in the former Bistro 24 space will be open around mid-May. They'll have the same menu, beer, wine, sangria, but this time around, an outdoor patio and Mexican brunch items loom in the post-opening future. [EaterWire]
NOE VALLEY EXTRA - Meanwhile in deep-dish land, Patxi's Noe incarnation is lining up for a September birth in the other former Mi Lindo Yucatan on 24th at Noe . [EaterWire]
