Future Cow Hollow Restaurant and Reality TV Star, Unwind

Joining Roam Artisan Burgers, Marengo and American Cupcake on Union Street in the coming months, is Unwind on Union an “eclectic American bistro” from Kai Vance and Todd Slosek. Unwind will enter the former Pasta Pomodoro space and will probably open around mid-June. In the meantime, David Adjey, a Toronto-based chef and consultant you may remember from Season 7 of Iron Chef America when he fought to a rare tie against Michael Symon with a theme ingredient of sturgeon, will be filming an episode of The Opener with the Unwind restaurant owners. In this new series from the Food Network Canada, Adjey, a soft, Canadian version of Gordon Ramsay schools rookies in opening and running a restaurant.

Vance, who was the COO of High Flying Foods, isn’t a total newbie, but his partner Slosek worked in politics and PR and, at one point, was an appointee in the Schwarzenegger administration. Both long-time Cow Hollow residents tell us they’ll be in the kitchen running Unwind when The Opener wraps up filming. Below, get a taste of this new exercise in reality TV. Special trailer moments include the adventures of some NOLA "frat buddies" in opening their first restaurant and Adjey's cheesy catch phrase, "failure is not on the menu." The show airs this fall.
