Citron.jpgChris Rossi's Citron, the contemporary French bistro and staple in Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood since it opened in 1992, served it's last meal earlier this month. The closing was described as abrupt, with no official announcement. Though it's sad to watch such old guard fixtures as Citron close, the general consensus seems to be that the bistro hadn't evolved as the neighborhood and its tastes grew up. In 2005, Mikey Two Stars knocked Citron out of the 3 star club, and that appears to mark the beginning of a long, slow decline from dazzling to meh. [EaterWire]
