NORTH BEACH - A tipster informed us that lights were out at Joe Manzare's Italian-American restaurant, Joey & Eddie's last night at 9 p.m. A follow-up call to the host confirmed they're "making some changes," and are now open only for dinner service Fri-Sun. Not sure what this means for North Beach's future meatball quota, but we are accepting your insider info, as per usual. [EaterWire]
NORTH BEACH EXTRA - Also through the tipline, comes news that paper is up in the window at Figaro Ristorante on Columbus. We called. No answer. Fill us in, if you will. [EaterWire]
NAPA VALLEY - Oxbow Wine Merchant and Oxbow Cheese Merchant complete the move from their current spot to Oxbow's Main Market Hall by July, leaving a huge vacant space with a deck in the front of the Market. Rumor has it founder Steve Carlin, who is also the project manager of the Ferry Building, has his sights set on a very exciting option to become the new "anchor restaurant." Considering he brought the Slanted Door to the Ferry Building, it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with. [EaterWire]
NAPA VALLEY EXTRA - Across the way from the mysterious new Oxbow restaurant above, C Casa, a taqueria owned by Catherine Bergen, will be moving into the old Rotisario vacancy in about a month. Erasto and Pablo Jacinto, who worked for years with Cindy Pawlcyn will be chefs at the farm-fresh, creative taco spot, using five of the farm stands to create an inside/outside eating experience.
