Ritual Creates Coffee-Infused Beer with Speakeasy Brewery

SOMA - The beer geeks at City Beer Store recently announced they'll be hosting a "sort of release party" for the new Ritual Payback Porter this Thursday starting at 5 p.m. The Speakeasy Brewery guys have been working with Ritual Coffee Roasters for a few months on this "velvety" brew infused with a Brazilian coffee blend. You'll be able to try it alongside the original Payback Porter and some straight Ritual coffee at the celebration. [EaterWire]

SOFT-OPENINGS - Nubi Yogurt has started serving under-the-radar soft serve at its Potrero Center location. Expect a grand opening with 50% discounts and free t-shirt giveaway on May 22nd. [Fro-Yo Girl]


SOFT-OPENINGS EXTRA - C Casa, the innovative taqueria from Made in Napa Valley brand founder Catherine Bergen, has soft-opened today in the old Rotisario space at Oxbow Market. Napa's newest Mexican stop implements ingredients from local growers, ranchers and farmers. According to Bergen, “We will continue to serve whole rotisserie chickens with a C Casa flair and accompaniments will included spiced rice, black beans and fresh homemade corn tortillas. POTRERO HILL - Perry's at the San Francisco Design Center is not opening this week as originally planned. The popular American restaurant some call a San Francisco institution will instead open its third outpost next Tuesday. Today, they are having a cocktail party for all the SFDC tenants in both buildings. [EaterWire]

NIGHTLIFE - Via SFist comes news of another trade organization "dedicated to serving the interests of nightclubs and other entertainment venues in San Francisco." Its Board of Directors includes Sean Manchester, owner of Wish and Mighty; Demetrius “Deech” Chapin-Rienzo, the Director of Operations of Vintage415; Barry Synoground, General Manager of DNA Lounge; Terrance Alan, former Chairman of the (controversial) San Francisco Late Night Coalition; Tim Benetti, co-founder of Bottom of the Hill; Guy Carson, former General Manager of Hotel Utah; and Deborah Jackman, General Manager of Mezzanine. THE SHUTTER - As new (mostly sustainable, local, organic) approaches to pizza and burger business concepts multiply across the Bay Area, is it any wonder national chain California Pizza Kitchen has closed its Van Ness Avenue outpost?
