Bittman Eats A Tamale "As Big as Your Face"

MarkBittman.jpgCookbook author and New York Times columnist, Mark Bittman, dodged the Mission's "rampant" hipsters yesterday to have lunch with his daughter. At La Oaxaquena, the duo dug into a banana leaf tamale, guacamole, a taco al pastor, a sope and a coconut agua fresca for an impressively low $14. Bittman will be back, but now he's off to research a Times's Travel section piece. Drop us a line if you bump into him around town. [NYT]
