Parklet Action (Or Lack Thereof); Cocktails at La Folie

New, 1 comment

THE MISSION - Here you see the scene at the new 22nd St. parklet last night just after 6:00 p.m. Over a span of 1.5 hours, The Eater Investigative Squad noted traffic from three total humans, two of whom only squatted long enough to finish slices of Escape from New York pizza. On the contrary, the bike racks received a lot of action. This is a stark contrast to the parklet outside Mojo Bicycle Cafe on Divisadero, which is always packed, but that's no surprise because you can drink alcohol on that parklet and you can't on 22nd St...yet. A call to Revolution Cafe confirms they've filed an application to allow alcohol consumption on the patio and parklet, but "those are hard to get." [EaterWire]

COW HOLLOW - Brooke Arthur, who's creating the cocktail program for the Spork team's forthcoming Thermidor and Prospect from the Boulevard folks, is guest bartending on Monday at the La Folie Lounge. St. Germain cocktails will be $6 from 5 p.m. until close. [EaterWire]

JACKSON SQUARE - As of June 1, Quince will begin serving dinner on Sundays. [EaterWire]

PLYWOOD - Berkeleyside brought news today that Cinnaholic, "a punk-rock, pin-up style sweet-treats store that aims to break the stereotype that vegan food tastes like cardboard" will be opening near UC Berkeley in July. [Berkeleyside]

THE SHUTTER - A tipster brings word that Meridian International Sports Cafe just around the block from Revival in Berkeley has shuttered. In his words, "No big surprise given the location...and it was always dark and uninviting..and upscale pub fare and flat screens isn't super berkeley." [EaterWire]
