A faithful Eater tipstress recently walked into The Blue Fig, prompting the Eater Investigative Squad to go sniff around. Here you see the signage, storefront and a completely unrelated SUV. We ran into the owner, who remained tight-lipped about most things: like where he was from and the straight-up facts on his concept; but we did manage to learn the Fig will serve breakfast, paninis, salads and other lunch-type fare. He also mentioned it's "not going to be modeled after anything in this country." A bit strange as the large painting of a coffee cup going onto one wall would lead one to believe it's another coffee and sandwich cafe. But we did find this Web site for a restaurant and music venue with the same name and branding in Amman, Jordan. These two have got to be related! The owner leaked a mid-June opening, and your knowledge on this matter is most welcome in the tip jar . [EaterWire]
