Dennis Drobisch, landlord of the building that includes Ike's in the Castro, has a new angle on getting rid of his resident Fat Bastard purveyor. You see, Ike subleases the space from the adjacent Daimaru Sushi; so Drobisch is pursuing termination of that lease, which will naturally result in the sub-tenant’s loss of possession. You'll recall, Ike's is in violation of a few terms in the lease. And this is all in addition to the number of NIMBYs he's stirred up in the neighboring residential units. As of today, Ike tells us the court date is still not set. But if this latest landlord attempt is successful, a neighborhood sushi joint will be going down along with the popular sandwicheria, which should bring a death-like silence to the block.
