HAIGHT ASHBURY - Lady T-Hop has this news about a special series of events called Minute that Luce chef Dominique Crenn is planning with bartender Daniel Hyatt at The Alembic. Just as strange as that juxtoposition, is the idea itself. For the inaugural event, Crenn will be cooking four courses with Alembic chef Ted Fleury paired with pisco-based cocktails. And the real kicker is the meal will begin at midnight. Hop over here for the full rundown of courses. Spoiler alert: texture of summer strawberries will be served. [Tablehopper]
WINE COUNTRY - Christopher Kostow just brought his six-course vegetables and grains menu back to The Restaurant at Meadowood. According to Kostow, vegetable proteins and carbohydrates are balanced in the courses so the tasting menu is actually healthy. Interestingly, one of the courses reads as follows: roasted carrots, dark chocolate, chile de arbol, Iroquois cornmeal; which may or may not make you hungry. More info here. [EaterWire]
WINE COUNTRY EXTRA - Lark Creek Steak's forthcoming seafood-heavy concept, Fish Story, in Napa is looking for an "experienced general manager of the highest caliber." Look here for the full list of stringent qualifications. [Craigslist]
PAC HEIGHTS - Dosa will be hosting a swell-sounding nine-course luncheon of classic Indian street food dishes on Saturday along with Lady T-Hop, herself. The whole thing is $45 including wine pairings, and you can get tickets here. [EaterWire]
THE CRITIC'S DESK - Bon Appetit's Andrew Knowlton has this piece rounding up thoughts on citizen criticism from the country's top critics. And here lies Bauer's totally unscripted, candid response: "There's room for everyone. All these voices create buzz and increase interest in restaurants. While there's a lot of white noise out there, the most cogent voices will emerge." [BAFoodist]
BOURDAINWIRE- Anthony Bourdain will be at Book Passage in the Ferry Building at 10 a.m. signing copies of Medium Raw. This is one day only, kids, so get there a few hours early if you really want a chance to see the guy. DELICA folks, do hide the fish innards, lest the esteemed author run off with them. [SFoodie]
