Early this morning, Anthony Myint of the defunct Mission Street Food came forward with the news that he and Danny Bowein will be launching a concept called Mission Chinese Food out of Lung Shan Restaurant on July 5. The menu will include roughly 10 to 12 items, focused on food from various regions in China, although it may diverge into other cuisines and flavor profiles. "We're calling it 'Americanized Oriental Food'" says Myint. "And it will be available seven days a week, eat-in, take-out or delivery. Dishes will be priced in the $7-$10 range and we'll send $0.75 from each dish to the San Francisco Food Bank."
With regards to the Commonwealth concept, which will purportedly draw from some aspects of Mission Street Food, Myint says things are coming along at at 2224 Mission Street and he is hoping to open in late July, but left us with the caveat that "things are always pretty uncertain and slower-moving than expected."
