Over the weeekend, Bauerificent visits Bistro Aix 2.0 in the Marina and finds the big remodel means less noise, a new wood grill and a much more pleasant place to dine overall. Lucky for chef Jonathan Beard his menu is right up the Bauer alley: "Like Chez Panisse, there are few culinary fireworks, but loads of satisfied eating that will make you remember what you ate the next day;" so it's not surprising the Aix gets the tres. Since we're in the Marina, this is the perfect time to chat about Patty Untz Untz, and her recent review of Tacolicious. Here, the guac is "spot-on" and the veggie taco "needs nothing to be complete," though the margs need help: "Not every dish works, but nothing costs too much." In summary, "It’s a place to flirt and drink and eat some tasty little tacos." [Examiner]
