SOMA- The owners of Pete's Tavern and Momo's tell us they'll be opening the adjacent 8,500-square-foot Mexican colossus, Pedro’s Cantina, on August 6th. Adding 23 more high-def plasma screens to the ballpark mix, the new joint will also bring in a 360-degree bar and a restaurant serving street-style Mexican fare (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc.) created by Executive Chef Damon Hall. THE MISSION - Earlier this afternoon, Signore Lucchesi passed on news that proves Scott Baird and Josh Harris are even busier than we thought they were. The twosome is teaming up with Jason Henton to create Trick Dog, a new bar with food coming to 3000 20th Street early next year, along with Central Kitchen from the Flour + Water team and The Parlour by Humphry Slocombe. The 1600-square-foot space will have a mezzanine, late-night food and "fun and fresh" cocktails made with a "watering-hole mentality." [ISSF]
COW HOLLOW - Cafe Des Amis, the most pedigreed of this year's Union Street openings, has nailed down an opening date of July 21st. You'll recall Bacchus Management, who also owns Spruce and Woodside's Village Pub, is behind the new brasserie. And they've partnered with Perry Butler, owner of all three Perry's locations to create a 200-seat ode to Paris with a seasonal menu created by chef/partner Gordon Drysdale and executive chef Ed Carew. In true Euro style, breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night menus will be served nightly. Look out for more Eater intel as the opening nears. [EaterWire]
