Yesterday the Bauer Bloc came out with this review of a Sonoma "European soul food" restaurant called Lokal, where first-time restaurateurs John and Heidi Cowles brought in ex-PlumpJack chef Rick Edge to create the menu. Its hearty fare "seems familiar, like a cuddly, warm shawl" and "portions would satisfy a marathon runner in training," but "several flubs" and service that "seemed a little amateurish" knock the endearing haunt down to 2 stars.
