MORIMOTO WIRE - Though the paint is barely dry on Morimoto Napa, we've received news today that Morimoto's West Coast presence will extend down to LA with an even newer project, Live. And it's his first non-Japanese concept at that: "He plans to serve simple, affordable "market cuisine" that centers around a live, custom-built Brazilian-style rotisserie and grill with a full-on wood burning oven." Hop to Eater LA for more. [-ELA-]
THE MISSION - The Examiner reports there was a bar brawl on the 2200 block of Mission Street at 1:15 a.m. this morning that ended with a stabbing and the hospitalization of two men. There aren't all too many bars on that precise block besides Beauty Bar. No fatal injuries were incurred. [Examiner]
SF CHEFS - The second annual SF Chefs just sent word they'll have an SF Chefs iPhone app to help navigate all the seminars, tastings, special restaurant menus and parties to be had during the week-long industry food- and wine-gasm. The app will be available on August 1, at which time you can download it here. As always, the full schedule of events can be found on the SF Chefs Web site. [EaterWire]
THE SHUTTER - The nightclub DisasterWire is hot today, friends. SFist tells us that Jelly's, " a nightclub specializing in Latin and DJ grooves, [that] has been a port tenant since 1993," will be shuttering within the next 30 days due to a fatal shooting last week. [SFist]
