On Tuesday night, Oakland got one step closer to permitting four medical cannabis farms of unlimited size to potentially grow up to 20 percent of California's crop and alleviate the city's grave financial issues. Not surprisingly, Oaksterdam owner Rich Lee is all for it and landowner John Wilcox has his sights set on creating the "Silicon Valley of cannabis in Oakland" with plans to rent land to local growers. The second reading and vote on the ordinance occurs Tuesday, July 27. [EBX]
