Joey & Eddie's Death To Spawn Original Joe's...or BeeBo?

New, 5 comments

This morning a notice from real estate broker Bruce Breitman shot over the EaterWire, detailing the sale of Joe Manzare's North Beach Italian American restaurant, Joey & Eddie's. Let's start by saying, at 8,427-sq-ft with a full liquor license, the asking price of $375,000 is quite the deal. And you may have heard about this potential top contender.

But there's some conflicting evidence on the table now, and it comes via tipster, with the photographic evidence you see above:

"So we saw that Joey & Eddy's was soon to be turning into Original Joe's so we had to go back to use up our last Groupon. Went in last night and the menu was pared WAY down - only 8 or so items (4 of which were various spaghetti dishes)...We asked the host to change the music and was told the owner liked this style and they can't change it (think Margaritaville followed by Thriller). Anyway, the reason I'm writing is because as we were leaving, I saw this flyer posted by the door."

Said flyer reads: "Coming soon...BeeBo, Cucina Povera, Rustic Italian." So naturally we asked Manzare what's happening with all this. And naturally he declined to comment: "No news now, And thriller [sic] is certainly not my choice of music." So it seems we can't be certain about the fate of the space that once housed Moose's and now holds Joey & Eddie's. But Original Joe's, with its down-to-earth Italian leanings, would certainly fit in with the other kids on the block.
