Chef Shuffles

MaggieLeung.pngVia press release today we learn Masa's has a new pastry chef: Hong Kong-born Maggie Leung who grew up in San Francisco, went to UC Berkeley and graduated from the California Culinary Academy. Career highlights: winning over Bauer's sweet tooth as head pastry chef at Americano and landing the executive pastry chef job at Lark Creek Inn. Leung replaces John McKee, who joined Masa's in November 2007 and -- now this is interesting -- created the best-selling original croissant recipe for Peet's Coffee. So we're curious to see what he gets into next. [Update: It appears McKee moved to Philadelphia with his girlfriend to open a bakery.] [EaterWire]
