CIVIC CENTER - This Thursday the Asian Art Museum is celebrating the cuisine of Shanghai and it's rich tradition of food marinated in wine with an event called Matcha in partnership with the Asian Culinary Forum. Chef Nei Chia Ji of Chinatown tasting menu destination, Jai Yun, and TV star and cookbook author Martin Yan will be in the house for a talk and cooking demo. Small exemplary bites like vegetarian goose with bean curd and rice wine and the drunken chicken with Shaoxing wine will be served as well. Here's more info. [EaterWire]

EMBARCADERO - Today Traci Des Jardins' Public House will start doing three- of four-course beer dinners every third Thursday of the month. Each dish is paired with a different beer and you don't even need to make a res to attend one; although they are being served on a first come, first served basis from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tonight's featured brewery is Escondido's Stone Brewing Company and the whole meal is $40. WINE COUNTRY- Dog-owners are often met with a dose of passive agressive 'tude when they bring their furry family members out to eat, but Cindy Pawlcyn of Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen and Go Fish in St. Helena is taking the opposite approach. Inside Scoop has the story on her "Paws on the Patio" program with private dining areas and special menus for those who bark whilst eating dinner. [ISSF]
