Former Bauer favorite Cortez shuttered at the Hotel Adagio almost exactly a year ago; and now comes news of its replacement, Bar Adagio, taking a much more casual route. The room has been slightly tweaked to include more lounge-style seating and you'll see the menu, created by Hugo Campos, offers a more affordable, approachable array of bites that the pricey Cortez small plate-dominated menu of yore. The bar will also resurrect the cocktail lessons Cortez used to host wherein guests learn to make bitters, infusions, edible garnishes and such. This time around, they'll happen every second Thursday of the month, which means the first one will take place next week. As always, early reports are much appreciated. [EaterWire]
