HAYES VALLEY - Smitten -- that newfangled made-to-order ice cream that comes from both a liquid nitrogen machine and a Beretta Organic Farm cow -- is now zeroing in on a late September opening for the brick and mortar shop rendered here. If you want to get a taste of this sooner, they'll be at the Exploratorium After Dark tomorrow and at the Oakland Eat Real Festival on Aug. 27. [EaterWire]

THE SUNSET - SFoodie recently filled us in on Let's Roll the city's first ever roll-your-own-sushi joint , which sounds like a lot of work compared to the make-your-own-salad places.[SFoodie]

NORTH BEACH - Signore Lucchessi is talking about the similarly novel concept of fusion tacos at Nico's Tacos coming to 1310 Grant Ave. Now you can finally have those Indian tacos with mango chutney you've been craving for so long, although this won't be the only outside-the-box taqueria in that neck of the woods. POTRERO HILL Remember all the details on the homeless, yet quite ambitious Ecco Caffe project coming to the city. The Inside Scoop has news that they're finally ready to reveal their location at 1125 Mariposa St. and they should be up and running before 2011 is upon us. [ISSF]

SAN MATEO - Osteria Coppa, where ex-Quince cook Chanan Kamen will be hand-making pasta and pizza, just completed a preliminary tasting in preparation for its opening. From the Facebook we learn that the press release isn't coming for a few weeks, so that means the opening is still at least that far away. Photos of a pre-opening pizza and the pizza oven installation are here. [EaterWire]

SOMA - Bar Agricole is installing its bar on Monday. Hence, "bar." [EaterWire]
