FOOD FESTS - SFoodie just pointed our attention to the newly released schedule of demos, contests and DJs at this year's Eat Real Festival in Oakland. Everything from how to make bitters to live goat milking is explored and then there's the exhaustive list of food vendors, which has doubled since last year. Note: Chairman Bao is on there. WINE COUNTRY - This Wednesday, Farmstead is hosting a casual winemaker dinner with David Long of David Arthur Vineyards. The menu will include salad, biscuits, petrale sole, brick-cooked chicken, pork belly, sides and dessert, all served family-style. Call the restaurant for reservations. [EaterWire]

WINE COUNTRY EXTRA - Inside Scoop has some quotes from key players at some of the wine country restaurants that recently got an F on their health inspections. You'll be surprised to see Bottega, Bistro Don Giovanni and Cantinetta Piero among them. [ISSF]

SOMA - Next Thursday, Zindagi is hosting a fundraiser at The Hub SoMa featuring organic and sustainably produced wine from local, family-owned vineyards like Tres Sabores, Magnanimus and Bonterra to raise awareness of sustainable business practices and social entrepreneurship. More info here.
