The Latest From Hapa Ramen: Bar Tartine Pop-Ups and More

Continuing the ramen explosion that's taken hold of SF this year, locally sourced noodle venture Hapa Ramen will be doing three pop-up dinners at Bar Tartine on the 13th, 20th and 27th of this month. Owners Kitty Gallisa and Richie Nakano, who met in the kitchen at Nopa, will be offering an a la carte menu including a couple of different appetizers -- possibly a salad and some sliced raw fish -- in addition to rice bowls, ramen and a dessert option from Bi-Rite and/or Batter Bakery. The best part is they'll be eliminating the wild card wait time by offering reservations via 415-374-6377.

In other news, Hapa Ramen HQ has just moved from La Cocina to the less-crowded Mission Creek Kitchen, where they hope to host noodle making classes later this Fall. Starting on the 7th, they'll also start serving ramen on Tuesdays at the Ferry Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on top of the usual Thursday schedule. All the while, Hapa is searching for the next layer of sustainability: that special TBD brick-and-mortar location. Remember the Bruno's kids will be wheeling the smokers into Bar Tartine come October.
