Ad Hoc Hosts The Frankies; Skool Starts The Brunch; MORE

WINE COUNTRY - The Frankies of Frankies 17, Frankies 457, Prime Meats and Frankies Spuntino fame in New York will be out here at Ad Hoc in Yountville on Friday with the press junket for new cookbook The Frankies Spuntino Kitchen Companion & Cooking Manual. At $145, the event is one of the higher ticket items of the week, but this includes a classic Italian American Frankies meal cooked by Ad Hoc's chef Dave Cruz, wine, coffee, tax and tip and a signed copy of the book; so it's actually a decent deal. THE MISSION - Starting tomorrow at Local Mission Eatery, Jake Des Voignes will be cooking harvest dinners with ingredients fresh from the gardens he tends outside Lodi. These will occur nightly until Saturday, so hop to the Web site for a res if it sounds like your kind of thing. [SFoodie]

BRUNCH WIRE - Seafood-heavy Potrero Hill newcomer, Skool, will start serving brunch this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. They have two different kinds of bloody Marys, things like a Sokeye salmon frittata and that expansive 35-seat outdoor patio, which could be a nice Indian Summer daytime destination. HAPPY HOUR - Park Chalet and Beach Chalet just introduced this new happy hour menu called "3-6-9" wherein all items are either $3, $6 or $9 between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. and then again after 9 p.m. Got that? After perusing the full list, we found some good deals on there, like the $6 pepperoni pizza at Park Chalet. Not sure how we feel about the $3 beer bread yet. [EaterWire]
