SF Cocktail Week Adds Cocktail Crawl, Island BBQ & More

The web site just went live for San Francisco's 4th Annual Cocktail Week, the one we first mentioned a few weeks ago. The madness, mixology and otherwise, kicks off next Tuesday and just today a few additions were made to the schedule . We've pointed out some of our favorites here for your convenience. And then there's always the full list of options over here.

Classic Cocktails Through a Modern Lens will take place on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. Jennifer Colliau (Heaven’s Dog, Slanted Door) and Erik Ellestad (Heaven's Dog, Alembic) will teach participants how to make classic cocktails from the right ingredients. It takes place at Heaven's Dog and costs $25.

Cocktail Crawl: Drinking With Dominic is a walking and drinking tour of classic SF bars led by leading local bartender Dominic Venegas. It starts at Buena Vista Cafe at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, presumably with an Irish coffee, and will make at least eight subsequent stops. This one is free, though you'll pay for your drinks and space is limited.

Hangar One Cocktail Cookout On the Island on Sunday includes a Fatted Calf BBQ, a cocktail competition and then a tour of the Hangar One vodka distillery. $50 ticket price includes transportation via ferry and BART.

And then on Sunday night, Long Bar chef Erik Hopfinger and Zare at Fly Trap's Hoss Zare will offer an I-talian I-ranian American Spaghetti Feed at the Long Bar & Bistro. $22.98 includes antipasi, spaghetti and meatballs, tiramisu and a glass of wine. Reservations are also recommended for this one. Email info@longbarsf.com. Additional instructions from the Web site: "Wear your favorite velour tracksuit or elastic-waisted trouser; we are going to eat big."
