While Una Pizza Napoletana and Alexander's Steakhouse were certainly the biggies of the week, let's take a moment to review the other notable openings around the Bay Area.
1) Diamond Heights: Earlier this week, Signore Lucchesi spoke of All Seasons, the new Chinese restaurant replacing 40-year-old Yet Wah at 5238 Diamond Heights Blvd. First reports speak of higher prices than most Chinese restaurants. But they are carrying on the tradition of karaoke and it sounds as if there's a proliferation of abalone on the menu. [ISSF, Chowhound]
2) San Mateo: Ginji Izaka has opened in downtown San Mateo. In typical fashion, early Yelp reports span "Absolutely fantastic" to "Worst. experience. everrrrrrrr." Please help us with your early thoughts. [ISSF]
3) Berkeley: Droves of neighbors showed up for the opening night of Addie's Pizza Pie on Wednesday. Besides some electrical issues with the frozen custard making machine, everything looks to be humming along nicely. Owner Jennifer Millar says vanilla, chocolate and coffee or gianduja will be swirling next week. [Facebook]
